Jesus, Religion, and Bonhoeffer

 In some of Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s prison letters to his dear friend Eberhard Bethge, he hinted at how European culture was very religious, but at the same time quite godless (like the U.S. today).  Here’s what he had to say in light of that.

“Jesus calls men, not to a new religion, but to life.”
