Worship always…

Recovering Mother Kirk

“Worship…is not something done lightly or without serious consideration.  In worship, Christians profess and honor the character of the God whose presence they enter and who has brought them out of an estate of sin and misery.  Worship always reflects a people’s conception of God.  True theology yields true and acceptable worship.  Impropor or erroneous theology yields false worship.  Worship is not a matter of taste; it is a statement of theological conviction about who God is and who we are as his covenant people.”

“…Worship is not a form of spiritual affirmative action that allows everyone equal time in the liturgy.”

D. G. Hart, Recovering Mother Kirk (Grand Rapids: Baker Academic, 2003), 79, 26.

I love this book!
